Tours of Belfast
The clock tower is built on marshy, reclaimed land, the top of the tower leans four feet off the perpendicular and is known colloquially as Belfast's "Leaning Tower of Pisa". The Albert Clock is visible from High Street, and situated nearby Queen's Square and Custom's House Square two attractive, modern public spaces with trees, fountains and sculptures.
William J Barre, who also designed Belfast's Ulster Hall was the man behind the memorial clock's design, and the sculpture of Albert at the base is by SF Lynn.
