Probably Belfast’s best known pub, steeped in history and now owned
by the National Trust. Tourists and locals alike
can be found enjoying a drink in the restored Victorian
surroundings which are extravagantly ornate.

Queen's University, University Road |
The university was chartered in 1845, and opened in 1849 as "Queen's College, Belfast", but has roots going back to 1810. The University also forms the focal point of the Queen's Quarter area of the city, one of Belfast's four cultural districts. |

Parliament Buildings, Stormont |
Designed by Sir Arnold Thornley in the Greek classical style and fronted in Portland stone. It was opened by Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) on 16 November 1932. |

St George's Market |
The Variety Market is every Friday from 6am to 1pm,
selling a range including food, antiques and clothes. On Saturdays
it's The City Food and Garden Market from 9am to 3pm. |

St George's Church |
The present church is a large and elegant building designed by John Bowden of Dublin. Completed in 1816, it was built as a chapel of ease to house the overflow from St. Anne's parish church nearby, before St. Anne's Cathedral was built on that site. |

The Albert Clock |
Constructed mainly of sandstone, between 1865 and 1870, as a memorial to Queen Victoria's late Prince Consort, Prince Albert. The tower is 113 feet tall and situated at Queen's Square, not far from Custom House. |

Belfast City Hall |
Plans for the City Hall began in 1888 when Belfast was awarded city status by Queen Victoria. Construction began in 1898 under the supervision of architect Sir Alfred Brumwell Thomas and was completed in 1906. |

Belfast Cathedral |
In April 2007 a 100-metre stainless steel spire was installed on top of the cathedral. Named the "Spire of Hope", the structure is illuminated at night and is part of a wider redevelopment planned for the Cathedral Quarter. |
