A long established favourite in the Belfast food scene, Nicks Warehouse in the cobbled Cathedral Quarter, was orginally a Bushmills Whiskey warehouse. In the beginning, the restaurant was a bit of a strange location, but now the Cathedral Quarter is very much alive and buzzing with elegant hotels and trendy bars nearby.
The downstairs winebar and restaurant are relaxed and the style is lively and there is a buzz of excitement with the open kitchen. Upstairs there is a slightly more formal dining area, however both offer a well planned menu, using ingredients sourced from trusted suppliers. They are very good at cooking fish and game when in season.
The wine list is well priced and enjoyable, and the wine bar has a loyal following - a result of their hard work in finding some seriously good wines. The spacious downstairs restaurant seats around 130 people, and children are welcome until 9pm.
Nick has a good website www.nickswarehouse.co.uk and if you're interested in buying some good wine, don't miss his new ecommerce site at www.nickswines.co.uk for some bargains.
If you haven't been before, see our map for directions as it can be a little tricky to find if you're new to the area.
