This is a recent addition to the restaurant scene, and is all the better for it. Named after Japan's national flower – the cherry blossom, Sakura offers authentic japanese and oriental fare, and brings a taste of Tokoyo to Belfast. A proper sushi belt carries extraordinary little creations from the kitchen, colour coded by price.
Tables are laid out simply with chop sticks, soy sauce, ginger and wasabi. On the menu, you will find everything from sushi and sashimi (raw fish) to more substantial dishes such as Ginshao king prawn with vegetables in a spicy yellow bean sauce, Japanese-style roasted pork with curry udon noodles and stew beef with dry garlic from the hot plate.
Just a few minutes walk from the city centre, Botanic Avenue is a trendy area of Belfast, near the chinese community of the Donegall pass.
We really recommend trying this place, it's good fun, the food is authentic and the service very good.
