Batik Creative Design
Batik's furniture starts with Michael Thonet, the 19th-century Austrian designer of bentwood chairs, and ranges through the Bauhaus school and 50s Danish design to the present.
Owners Douglas Elliott and his wife June seek out classic designs by the likes of Zanotta, Schiffini and Artemide; paint and tiles are stocked as well as furniture. A design service is available.
Elliott also has a RIBA award (a top UK architecture award) for the redesign of the building that houses his shop.
